We hosted our welcome dinner (about 100 guests) at Pelato for our wedding weekend and could not have asked for a more perfect experience. From start to finish, Patrycja Nicos and her team went above and beyond to make the evening unforgettable. The food was outstanding — every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and delicious. The service was flawless; the staff were attentive, kind, and truly cared about making the night special. Patrycja made everything seamless, effortless and stress-free for us. If you are considering Pelato for a special occasion — do it. They’ll exceed your expectations. Photos: @darlingjulietphoto
Pelato is a semi-chill Brooklyn-Inspired tapas spot that is perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. You can feel the energy in the room when you step inside. Food is great. The tomato sauce is the main reason to eat here! Absolutely top notch tomato sauce all around the board. Highlights were the Chicken Parmigiana, which was the best chicken parm my wife and I had ever had. The Butrata Crostini is amazing, though may have been even higher tier if the bread didn’t have sesame seeds (slightly threw off the taste—at least with the drinks we had with it—wine might have been a better choice). The Potato Croquettes were so crispy and fluffy and very savory. The homemade Rigatoni with Italian sausage was incredible, it had a little bit of spice that really enhanced the flavors. The prosciutto do Parma was good, would’ve been great with some crackers and maybe a bit more prosciutto to balance the Prosciutto-Parmesan ratio. The Meatballs were great. The service was very fast and our server Alex was so accommodating and kind. Spent around $200 for the two of us. If you know what you want or have been there before, you probably could spend around $100-$150 for two people. You should definitely be willing to try various things though and you will be very happy you did. We just were planning on a date night but the experience was so good I had to leave a review. Check it out.
TL;DR: Pelato is a tapas style eatery that offers some good Italian dishes in a nice ambiance at slightly high price point (for tapas). 3.5 / 5 stars FOOD: Pelato is a tapas style restaurant and most dishes fall between $14 and $20 with proteins being a bit more as one would expect. Out of everything we ordered the vodka pasta was truly amazing... I guess this is to be expected but the pasta dishes really do steal the show and they are all made in house. The burnt broccolini (that is the name of the dish) was a close second though and very good. The croquettes, calamari, and chicken parm were good but honestly under salted and slightly bland (which was disappointing). The garlic bread and parm sauce was good and very savory. I considered a cocktail or bear but at $11 a beer I just couldn't (This might be more normal for Nashville but that is a pricey beer that other restaurants like this would charge $7-$8 for) SERVICE: First off our waitress MP was amazing and had some good recommendations and checked in often; she was great. the manager floated around a little more than I would like and was a bit pushier than I would like. The other issue was we were asked to order all the food upfront and the kitchen would pace us but it came out way too quickly and we felt a bit rushed and like we could not enjoy the meals dishes. SETUP: The restaurant and outside seating were nice but I found the tables for two a bit small and close to others making quiet and private conversations a bit difficult. At one point they brought out a sparkler to celebrate and I found myself pointing it away from the lady next to us as it was pointed at her.
We had an amazing experience at Pelato! The food was phenomenal! Every dish we ordered was 10/10! This is seriously the first time I have went to a restaurant and didn’t come home with leftovers because my big back gobbled everything up. Our table ordered basically the entire menu and there wasn’t one bad dish. It is very busy but it’s worth it. Our server Jada was amazing and very helpful. She explained everything on the menu and was very patient and friendly. Avery is also the GOAT! Great staff and great food! Would definitely come back!!
We came to visit from Florida and had a wonderful time. They were so accommodating. We brought our dogs and we loved how they have a patio, we were originally going to eat somewhere else in a patio but they closed it due to possible thunder storms, we were recommended here and my partner and I loved it. They have an enclosed patio that’s dog friendly. The broccolini, chicken parm and the garlic potato’s were amazing. We loved it and. When we come back to Nashville we will be back. Mandy P (MP) was the absolute best server. Very attentive, super sweet answered all our questions and refilled water for our dogs bowls when they ran low. Did not hesitate to pay attention to they as well. She is an excellent server and our experience was a 10 out of 10.
Great food. Chef's kiss. I love the location as well. I only wish that since it is a family style shared plate restaurant that the portions were larger. Item after item came out fast and tasted better than the previous. We ordered a large amount of the menu with a table of 4 and it was completely reasonable
The restaurant… when I tell you it’s SO good, I mean it! My parents came to visit me, and we had an excellent experience. Our server, Halley, was so sweet—every single recommendation she made was a 1000/10. This has easily become one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. I’d bring someone here just for the cocktails and tapas alone. The espresso martini, the meatballs, the vodka pasta—everything was delicious. And the bread with the Parmesan dip? DO NOT leave without trying it. Absolutely amazing. The service was quick, yet everything came out fresh and piping hot—you literally had to blow on it before taking a bite, which is how you know it’s made right. The atmosphere, the staff, the food—everything checks out. Highly recommend, and shoutout to the manager who was also so kind!
A great place to go in Germantown for some good Italian. I saw that some of the other reviewers were complaining about portion sizes, which is true the plates are on the smaller side. But the staff does let you know that at the beginning, and the quality makes up for the size. With that being said, everything we had was phenomenal, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, especially the stuffed shells and the vodka pasta. For a random weekday it was very busy, and was a loud but enjoyable environment.
